How to I upgrade firmware on the modem.

WARNING: DO NOT upgrade the firmware with a wireless connection. You will damage the modem. Note: your current settings may be lost after upgrading.

Step 1 Download the firmware at http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/ and save the file to your computer. Do NOT run or try to open the .bin or .tfp file. It will not work. You will load the file through the modem's interface.

Step 2 Open your browser, enter the IP address of your modem (10.1.1.1) and click OK.

Step 3 Enter your username (admin) and password (admin), which is the default password. Click OK to enter the web configuration for the device.

Step 4 Click on the Admin link in the menu on the left and then the Image Upgrade. Click on the Browse button and browse to the .bin file you downloaded in Step 1. Highlight the file by clicking on it once and click Open. Click Update. It will take a few seconds for the upgrade to complete.

Step 5 After the modem reboots, close your web browser and reopen it. Enter 10.1.1.1 to reconnect with the web configuration. Enter username admin and password admin. Click OK. The firmware upgrade is now complete.

Step 6 If you have problems with the web configuration at this point, unplug the power to the modem, wait 10 seconds, and plug back in. Repeat step 5. If this did not help, perform a hard reset on the modem. To perform a hard reset, use a paperclip and press the reset button on the back of the unit TREE times (with approximately half a second interval). The lights will blink, and then stabilize. Repeat Step 5.
